Summer 2021 Classes

It is time for summer classes at the Mulvane Art Museum. Space is limited. Register before classes fill.

Hand Built Ceramics

Ages 7 - 9 yrs, enrollment limit 8
July 6, 7, 8; 1:00 - 3:00
$120 members $125 non members

Learn and apply basic hand building techniques using earthenware clay. We will bisque fire your creation for you to pick up later!

For the Birds

Ages 9 - 12 yrs; enrollment limit 8
July 6, 7, 8, 10:00 - 12:00
$120 members $125 non members
Paint beautiful birds using watercolor, color pencil, and other mediums. Listen and learn some bird songs. Plant flowers in containers to grow and feed the birds. Create a bird feeder using recycled containers.

Make Art With Me

Child with Adult Workshops
Enrollment limit 7 children with accompanying adult (14 total)
Enroll in each class separately!
Cost per class: $20 members; $25 non-members

We will look at artwork in the Mulvane’s Sustainability Exhibition, then you will create your own artworks in each of these workshops.

Saturday, September 18 10 am - 3 pm (bring sack lunch)
Cost per class:  $75 per adult; $25 for Washburn students
Learn the process artist Kate Horvat uses to create dynamic portraits.  Experience her unique process of pixelating, transferring, layering, drawing, painting, and embellishing--all by starting with a digital image.  Materials are supplied.  You will need to bring a digital image of yourself or someone you admire.  We will download it and you will begin!
