The Art of Healing highlights the work of Elizabeth Layton and Robert Ault, two Kansas artists who explored the healing power of drawing in their practices. Layton (1909-1993) took up contour drawing in her 60s as a way of working through depression, anger, and grief. Ault (1936–2008) was a professional art therapist whose work helped spread awareness of the healing potential of creative practices. Their drawings channel anxieties, explore personal struggles, and express hope and resilience.
