Shifting Perspectives is an exhibition of art and material culture from the Mulvane Art Museum’s permanent collection, ranging from the 17th century to the present. Objects on display include sword guards, woodcut prints, ceramics, and paintings, which individually and collectively relate experiences of communication, exchange, and appropriation between East Asia, Europe and America.

Shifting Perspectives is presented in correlation with the University of Kansas Kress Foundation Department of Art History and the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art’s Silk Road Through Kansas, a yearlong program series of exhibitions and public lectures examining the exchange of art and culture between Asia and Kansas.
