The contemporary tapestry movement is alive and vibrant. Small format works challenge historic references to scale, introducing a more intimate approach. Large tapestries emerge with a technical and conceptual freshness that intellectually reinterprets the centuries old art form. This juried exhibition features the very best of contemporary, hand-woven tapestry.
Organized by the American Tapestry Alliance, the American Tapestry Biennial 11 is an international juried exhibition that highlights the best of international contemporary hand woven tapestry. The juror for the 11th biennial is Janet Koplos, a freelance art critic currently based in St. Paul, Minnesota.
