Join the Mulvane Art Museum for the official opening exhibition featuring the photographic works of Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Brian Lanker who created a profound body of photography and research with his project titled I Dream A World: Portraits of Black Women Who Changed America. This collection of photographs and interviews with some of the most historically and socially influential women of the 20th century is communicated through 75 powerful photographs. These women include Maya Angelou, Rosa parks, Althea Gibson, Lena Horne, Ruby Dee, Coretta Scott king, Oprah Winfrey and Septima Poinsette Clark to name a few. The Mulvane Art Museum has acquired this collection, with the help of many benefactors, and will unveil the achievements of Lanker and in so doing acknowledge the potent words and deeds of his subjects on February 14th, 2020. This event is free and open to the public. 

Attendees will be encouraged to attend the monthly Washburn University Alumni Association & Foundation after hours event in the Bradbury Thompson Center (directly across from the Museum) which will be $5 for non-WU alumni and free for Alumni Association members.
