Please join the Mulvane Art Museum for a closing reception held in honor of Armando Bogarin, the Museum's Fall 2019 Visiting Artist. Bogarin comes to us from Paraguay through the state's Kansas Paraguay Partnership program. He is a self-taught artist, and has an international exhibition record. Bogarin's sculpture, Ka’aguy Rory (Joy of the Forest), 2019, is currently on view in the Mulvane exhibition Revisiting Visual Encounters: Art from Paraguay.
Bogarin's work is sculptural and serves to create a mythology about the protection of natural resources and the abuses that nature suffers. During his residency at the Mulvane, he has been creating a new sculpture using materials found in the Kansas landscape. Bogarin also worked with students and faculty at Washburn University, participating in class visits and providing artist talks. It has been a distinct pleasure hosting him. Please join us for a final evening with Armando Bogarin.
