The Mulvane Art Museum in support of the Brown v. Board Summer Legacy Trust will host a gallery talk concerning five works of art from the permanent collection that engage viewers with notions of freedom of expression and civil liberty. The works challenge the viewer with different perspectives on how we, as Americans, view freedom of expression and what it means to be American. It is imporatant that these contrasting points of view exist and are expressed, and it is equally important that moments of unity occur as exemplified by the unanimous decision in Brown V Board. Assistant Director, Dr. Brett Beatty, will give the talk titled Unanimous in honor of the 65th anniversary of the Brown V. Board of Education decision that profoundly impacted our ideas of freedom and civil rights in the United States.
