We offer a variety of K-12 learning experiences inspired by art objects and provide free resources for educators. Our educational programs spark curiosity and creativity, connect to many different content areas, and help students develop skills in communication, problem-solving, and observation.

Class Visits

Learn with us at the Mulvane Art Museum! We offer engaging gallery tours and interdisciplinary art activities for school groups of all abilities. We also provide bus reimbursement on request.

Class visits must be scheduled in advance. We can accommodate up to 50 students at a time (30 or fewer is optimal). If your group is larger than 50, we are happy to host your students in smaller groups over multiple visits.

Class visit schedule:

  • Groups of up to 50 students: Wednesdays through Fridays, 9am to 3pm
  • Groups of up to 15 students: Tuesdays, 9am to 3pm. We also offer an after school program in the Art Lab on Tuesdays for small groups.

Mulvane Outreach

Bring the Mulvane to your school! Our staff will come to your classroom and present Art Lab activities and educational content connected to current exhibitions.

Resource Library

The Mulvane resource library houses educational materials to help you bring art to life for your students and kids. We have books, videos, lesson plans, reproductions, and periodicals that you can check out. Located in the Mulvane Art Lab, the library is open to the public and spans all levels of learning. Contact our Education Coordinator, Stacy Ash (stacy.ash@washburn.edu), for more information about how you can use the Mulvane's resources to support K-12 education.
